New corporate video

Interesting, dynamic and done with flare; that describes the University of Ottawa’s new corporate video. The production took six full days of shooting and included the participation of dozens of people from various services. The project was in the able hands of Marie Carmelle Ruel from the Marketing Service.

The three minute video was produced by Anh Minh Troung, a 27 year old film producer with very promising career prospects (he already has 30 or so prizes and distinctions under his belt). The video brings together three of the University’s exceptional strengths. The University is a centre of national dialogue, located in the heart of the nation’s capital where language, cultures and perspectives come together to create a unique educational experience. The video also emphasizes the University’s innovative spirit and research discovery that in turn creates economic growth and prosperity for Canadians. Finally, the video touches upon the University as a key international player expanding Canadian knowledge of international issues and promoting distinctly Canadian ideas, values and priorities on the world stage.

The next phase of development that will enhance the video’s versatility is that each institutional attribute can be presented independently based on need or audience. This design concept also allows other modules to be added to the video and adapted depending on circumstances.

“Right now, the video is an important promotional tool. It’s a professional calling card that can be used in several situations including school visits and other institutional presentations,” explains Marie Carmelle Ruel.
